SAN FRANSISCO - March 2, 2026 – Ferrum Health, the AI governance platform for health systems, announces that its CEO, Pelu Tran, will speak alongside Dr. Jason Wiesner of Sutter Health at HIMSS 2026. The joint session will focus on how health care organizations can move beyond early AI pilots to build sustainable, enterprise-wide clinical AI programs grounded in governance, accountability and real-world results.

The session, From Pilot to Practice: Building Scalable Artificial Intelligence Governance in Healthcare, will examine how health systems are working through the shift from early enthusiasm to the hard work of deployment, monitoring and governance. With hundreds of AI tools available across areas such as breast imaging, many organizations are struggling to operationalize AI in ways that scale safely and deliver consistent value.

“When AI works in health care, patients benefit earlier and more equitably. But that only happens when health systems move with intention. Governance is not a brake on innovation; it’s the structure that allows AI to earn trust, improve outcomes and scale responsibly across an entire organization. I am looking forward to sharing practical advice to give health systems an understanding of this in practice,” explains Pelu Tran, CEO of Ferrum Health.

Drawing on Sutter Health’s real-world experience, Tran and Wiesner will explore how deliberate, policy-driven infrastructure has supported early cancer detection and improved patient outcomes. The discussion will address common barriers, including internal misalignment, regulatory complexity and siloed data. They’ll outline a replicable governance model that treats AI accountability as a shared responsibility across clinical, operational and IT teams.

“AI in healthcare isn’t a feature race. It’s a governance challenge. At Sutter, we’ve focused on reducing the compliance surface area for clinicians while creating a scalable framework for validation and observability. Some deployments have meaningfully improved workflow and detection. Others required recalibration. At HIMSS, we’ll share what we’ve learned about building AI that clinicians trust and systems can sustain,” says Dr. Jason Wiesner, Chair, Imaging Service Line at Sutter Health.

Attendees will leave with implementable guidance on advancing from isolated pilots to coordinated, enterprise-wide AI governance. Topics will include decision frameworks for AI deployment, performance monitoring approaches, policy evolution over time and the role of emerging technologies in supporting responsible scale.
