The power of mainframe computers, designed for heavy-duty data processing, is being reaffirmed as artificial intelligence is taking over various industries such as banking, insurance, and healthcare. Despite the emergence of cloud computing, many clients prefer mainframes for their unparalleled high-speed data processing abilities and are increasingly recognizing the advantages of integrating AI algorithms directly at the hardware source, rather than relying on cloud-based solutions. Especially for health systems with an incredible volume of data, mainframes provide the storage and the processing capabilities that are reliable and easily modifiable by the owner. This is specifically helpful when managing security control, given recent cyberware attacks on health systems.

Ferrum Health understands the importance of integrating AI algorithms "on-premise" within our clients' data centers, whether it is in physical mainframes or public and private cloud-based systems. This approach aligns with the broader trend highlighted by industry experts: bringing AI to the data, rather than moving data to the AI. On premise deployment allows increased safety of data and cost-efficiency, since there is no need to migrate existing data centers to the cloud, and the products will be deployed within the Firewall of the client’s Mainstream, ensuring maximum security. A brief review of the structure of data centers and the role of security is reviewed in our previous blog post.
